The Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Science
The first Economics discipline appeared in HKU under the Department of Economics and Politics of Faculty of Arts, which laid down a strong foundation for HKU Business School nowadays as early as 1941. And it was then housed under the School of Economics and Finance of the Faculty of Social Science. In 2001, the School of Economics and Finance and the School of Business combined and became the Faculty of Business and Economics.
