It is my pleasure to be part of HKU Business School at this momentous moment to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2021 with our partners, faculty members, alumni, students and friends.

With its long history tracing back to 1940s, the School is deeply rooted in Hong Kong, fully engaged with China and creating truly international impact. Building on a strong foundation, the Faculty is ready to take off to new heights. We restructured the organization of the Faculty to become a unilateral Faculty, allowing better coordination and stronger synergy across all units and programs. With proactive recruiting efforts, the Faculty attracted 45 outstanding scholars over the last three years, significantly enhancing the Faculty’s core competence.  We revamped the curriculum of existing programs and introduced a number of new innovative programs, trying our very best to provide the best educational experiences to all students. Our network of external and international partnerships is further expanded, in particular, with the new EMBA and DBA programs being jointly offered with Guanghua School of Management of Peking University. We have also been strengthening the bond with our extensive alumni community, and establishing stronger business partnerships.

As a young and dynamic Faculty with great potentials, we never stop relentlessly pursuing excellence in research and education. With even greater efforts, we are recruiting top scholars around the world and developing ourselves into a powerhouse of research, providing thought leadership that is impactful regionally and globally.

Firmly focused on our vision to become a leading, globally-impactful academic institution of business and economics, the whole community of HKU Business School has been working hard together to make it bigger, better and stronger every day, achieving one milestone after another. An important milestone down the road will be the redevelopment of Pokfield Campus as our new home, housing state-of-the-art academic, cultural and sports facilities suitable for world-class business education.
